The Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy Scholarship was established to support equitable access to post-secondary education for Tennessee's exceptional biliterate students. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is currently eligible for the Seal of Biliteracy, and who demonstrates high academic and personal achievement.
The scholarship recipient will receive $1000 award to apply towards an accredited two-year or four-year university.
Applicants must be eligible and have applied for/received the 2020 Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy. Selection is based on academic and non-academic criteria of the applicant, including: recipient or eligible for the Seal of Biliteracy according to the Tennessee State Board of Education policy, leadership experience, community involvement, grade point average, and personal statement. Please note, this is a competitive scholarship program.
SELECTION PROCESS & AWARD SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE:
Applications meeting the eligibility guidelines are reviewed and evaluated by a committee comprised of volunteers from Tennessee's business, education, and non-profit sectors. All selections made by the committee are final. Results will be announced at the 2020 Tennessee State Seal of Biliteracy Recipient Celebration.
