Join us in our work.

We believe that the Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy will be most meaningful for students if it is valued by their communities and supportive of their college and career goals.  Parents, teachers, community organizers, business owners, post-secondary leaders- everyone- can help to share about and support the award program.

Teachers, administrators, and district officials may request the following information and support:

  • Webinar for teachers, administrators, or district officials interested in learning more about the Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy

  • Webinar, Skype, in-person, or phone training for those who will be working to implement the program locally

  • Consultation for program support as needed

  • Implementation materials and guiding documents

  • Membership in our stakeholder Working Group

  • Award materials including a medal, diploma seal, and certificate template for students who meet the criteria for the Seal of Biliteracy or Seal of Biliteracy Honors

  • Invitations for all recipients, their families, world language teacher(s), site coordinators, and administrator(s) to the annual Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy Recipient Celebration 

Companies, individuals, and community organizations may partner with the Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy in any of the following ways: 

  • Allow us to include your logo on our "Endorsed By" page, sharing your support of our work

  • Share about the award program in your local community through social media

  • Ask your local schools if they provide the opportunity to apply for the Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy

  • Provide a sponsored scholarship award for applicants or contribute to our scholarship fund

  • Give in-kind donations for local or regional award celebrations

  • Sponsor award materials for recipients

  • Host an awareness or fundraising event in your region, city, or town

  • Connect the Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy with organizations that are actively working to meet similar goals in your community

  • Provide internship and job listings that seek bilingual and biliterate candidates

  • Join our stakeholder working group

Post-secondary institutions, leaders, and administrators may work with us to: 

  • Ask students if they are recipients of the Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy on their application

  • Provide foreign language credits to recipients

  • Sponsor scholarship awards for recipients

  • Work to incorporate the Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy into their literature on extracurricular organizations and awards that students should consider applying for to be a competitive candidate
